First Leg: Kayaking-Approx. 3 KM- Time:16.41
I never did kayaking before. Had a bit of difficulty in going straight but then was also
rammed by some canoes a few times. Was a blast! Had to carry the kayak back to
start line for running. I really should learn how to carry one properly! What a waste
of energy!

Second Leg: Run-Approx. 6.5 Km from Fort Whyte to Assiniboine Forest entrance-Time: 34.28.
First part was through field to the edge of the forest at Wilkes and Shaftsbury.
Then find trails through forest to parking lot. Nice and muddy in spots and blazed
through some ankle-deep water! Smiling all the way!

Third Leg: Rollerblading. Approx. 6 Km's. Time: 26.27. Assiniboine Forest to East entrance Park
I suck! Knew this would take a lot out of me and it did. Still smiling. Especially
after I finished. Didn't fall at all!

Fourth Leg: Run. Approx. 6.5 Km's. East entrance to Park along Wellington Crescent to Gtrat-
West Life Building at Osborne & Broadway. Time: 31.31
Legs dead from rollerblading. Sucked it up as best I could. Bike/run brick is hard
the first couple of time you do them. Rollerblading/run is worse. Should have
practiced this a bit. Still smiling, though!

Fifth Leg: Cycle: Approx. 21 Km's. Time: 39.13- Great West Life to Fort Whyte.
Used a mountain bike because that would be needed for the last part though
most was on the road. Started fine but legs were screaming after about 10
minutes (damn that rollerblading). Was flying along pretty good and then my
back started seizing up on me. About a mile later my calf started cramping.
Badly! Slowed down a bit. Final section was on a trail in Fort Whyte. Have a
new-found respect for mountain bikers!!!!!! I think I will stick to the roads!!
Still smiling because I was pretty much done.

Sixth Event: Wall climb-Gee, that was a blast! Let's see, my arms were dead from carrying
the kayak wrong, my legs were dead from everything, my back was seized, and
my calf was being a pain in the...calf. Really smiling now. I was finished (in more
ways than one!)

Total time: 2:28:20

Would I do this again? You bet! Most fun race I have ever been involved in.

What would I do differently? Carry the damn kayak on my shoulder! Also, me thinks me needs to bike more! And do more (some) leg exercises. Quads obviously need more work.
Stretching (what the hell is that!) should also become a part of my routine! My calf would
probably love me for that!
