Event warmup:

Got stuff organized and generic streaching
Swim
  • 18m 13s
  • 800 yards
  • 02m 17s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not too bad for my first open water start. Little choppy. Not able to get any kind of breathing rythem.
What would you do differently?:

try to get a little ocean swimming in before the race. Need new goggles, these leaked on the right eye the whole way. Work on more strokes to breath.
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Put the shoes on while sitting. Insert kept getting stuck. Lost at least 30 seconds. Eventually just rode the insert into place.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe some new shoes and learn to jump on bike barefoot. Had tough time with riding jersey when wet. will try to swim with it on in training next summer for wet suit runs.
Bike
  • 42m 36s
  • 12.1 miles
  • 17.04 mile/hr
Comments:

Very nice ride overall. First and last legs very bumpy, one person taken out on a streatcher near a pothole. The middle section down the river flat and fast. Sea breeze for the way out.
What would you do differently?:

Very comfortable on this leg. Not too worried at this time.
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Liked this transition better. Was relatively quick. Only problem was almost slipping (with explitives) when I first entered the building on a whole in the concrete floor
What would you do differently?:

learn to run with out sox
Run
  • 31m 7s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran my race. Paced what I knew I could do.
What would you do differently?:

Must work on speed. Much too slow in this race. Will work on distance and increaced speed for the spring.
Post race
Warm down:

Shamefully none

What limited your ability to perform faster:

First season with completion as the goal. Next year will have better placemnet and closer splits.

Event comments:

Loved the kids race for those under 16 at the end...50 yds 3-6 100 7-10 150 up to 16. Very well run race with the families in mind. Lots of small freebies for the kids. Would like to run Clydsdale next year althogh this year I would have been DFL in that catigory.

That must have been an awesome race! Great job! I think that would've been nearly perfect riding along the Charles, feeling the sea-breeze cooling you down, plus just the awesome architecture and scenery.
