Subject: FOGGY GOGGLES !!!???
Hi everyone,

Just completed my first Olympic and noticed a problem. I've just started swimming 1+ mile in my workouts during the past 60 days or so. When I get past the 800 yd mark, my goggles begin to fog. It was so bad during the race, I had to tread water while removing them and putting them back on. Any suggestions? A different brand or more expensive type of goggle? Mine are just $18 Speedo... Thank you!

Several companies make goggle defogger. I just purchased the Speedo version and tried it this morning. Seemed to work alright but wouldn't say it was any better then my traditional spit defogger. maybe others have tried a different brand that works better.

Baby shampoo. Put a pea size drop in each side while the goggles are dry, smear it around a bunch, and rinse them out. It'll keep my goggles fog free for an entire practice.

There's this stuff called "Cat Crap"... no I'm not joking. It works like a charm and I swear by it. I got mine at EMS, but I guess many outdoor/skiing/fitness places should have it.

These guys are spot on with the remedies for fogging goggles. Another thing I have noticed is that new goggles don't fog for quite some time. I usually buy goggles in bulk when on sale, so what I like to do is use a new pair for the races. Oh yeah by the way good old fashioned spit still works, get goggles wet, spit into eye cups, smear around, and then lightly rinse in the water.

Rinse your goggles very well after swimming in chlorine.  Chlorine makes the anti-fog ineffective.  It's also hard on the gaskets and straps.

FOGTECH

http://www.motosolutions.com/

Works for Swim Goggles, racquetball goggles, and those goggles you wear when it's sandy and windy out. (wiley-x sg-1). I have the bottle and it seems to last forever. I do apply it about every workout though.

I TOTALLY second the use of baby shampoo.

I've used any type of shampoo...it works pretty good.

I love the aqua sphere google defogger. You put a drop on..spread it on the insides, let it sit a little while rinse off and you are golden.

Important race I might get new googles and new goggle don't fog up the best.

I just get out a new pair of goggles when they start to fog up.

Otherwise, I keep a very small amount of water in my goggles... and when they fog up... I just put my head down and shake my head... and the fog is gone.
