Did anybody else pick up the race packet yesterday at Fleet Feet? I was a little confused. I was given one Fleet Feet plastic bag for the transitions. The bag did not have a draw string. When I asked about a second bag, I was told that the bag would be transported to the T2 location. Something doesn't make sense - a plastic bag with no draw string and only one transition bag that will transported from one location to the next during the race...

Can anybody make sense of this?

When you get to T1 after your swim, you're going to need to pack up your Transition equipment (goggles/wetsuit) and leave them. Mark the bag with name/number. When all the bikes have left T1 and the course is clear. They pack up a the bags in a moving truck and send them to the park. After the race is over you wait in line to retrieve your bag.....sort of gear check at a running race.

I don't remember if they had a draw string last year or not. I haven't look in my bag this year yet, although I did pick it up.

That much I understand. But they told me that my transition bag at T1 is also the transition bag for T2. Hence the reason why they gave me only one bag.

Am I required to use the bag they gave me? As you can probably tell this is my first race.

You don't need a T2 bag as T2 is at the park....you just set up your stuff in the grass at the racks. You'll just pick up your stuff when T2 reopens after the race is over. I'll probably have my backpack at T2.

Thank god someone else asked this question...

We were starting to freak out over here.

Since my husband is riding with clips, I presume his running shoes will be okay by the rack?

Wait...does that mean he'll have an assigned rack spot in T2?! I'm so confused.

He's asked that I mentioned he's got separate shoes for the bike and the run.

There should be security by the bike racks. But if I understand you correctly and understand the running2far, shoes for the running leg should be left at the run transition area. Truth be told, I am still a little confused and I hope to get it sorted out Friday when I get there.

Ditto. We're hoping it all gets ironed out later this afternoon when we arrive.
