Subject: Lake in the Hills splash and Dash June 16th
Anyone doing this?

I heard rimors they have problems with water qualities and let you know when you get there you swim at your own risk type of thing. Is there any truth to that? I thought about doing it but not if the lake is diseased, not for 2 miles.

i'm not sure what you mean about "2 miles".  It's a sprint.  The swim is 800M. 

I would love to do this tri but it's a bad weekend for me.  July 15th.  However, it's right by my house.  About a mile away.  The lake isn't as clean as Crystal Lake, but it's not THAT bad.   Whizzzz has done the Splash N Dash there the last year or two. 

The only negative I see in the race is two transition areas.  T1 and T2 are not in the same location, but they say they have it figured out so I hope it works. 

If anyone decides to do this race post here.  I'll probably come out and cheer you on, you know, show the BT love.

I have an email from the race director that has the registration info if anyone is interested you can email me (not PM) and I'll forward it to you.  I don't know how to but an Adobe document here in the thread so I can't do that.  Sorry.

I am talking about the Splish, Splash, and Dash on June 16th.

There is 200, 500 swim
1 mile, 2 mile + 5k run.

My friend said there was so much goose poo that the lake had an extra high ecoli count and it was well it might make you sick but you can do it.

Since its on a saturdsay and I am leading a pace group for the Illinios runs training program for the chicago marathon I think I am going to pass unless there is no one in my group. .

I read the brochure, and it said they would be testing the water quality before the race and will postpone it if needed.

yeah your right. maybe this is a result of what my friend was talking about. Figure in order to get people to do it they need to make it safe. He said it was one of the grossest things he was ever in.

Ok, I misunderstood.  That IS the race Whizzz has done the last two years.  You can read her race reports if you want to learn more about it.

I was talking about the tri that is going to be held there.  This is the first year for it.  Laura says she knows the woman organizing it and she knows her stuff so it should be a good event.  Y'all might want to check it out.
