Subject: RE: road shoes or tri shoes? I use Sidi tri-shoes, two straps that open away from you so that they don't get caught in the chain if you unfasten them while still on the bike. That said, I never do that, but just run back to the transistion area in my bike shoes. But they are easier to put on and take off than my old road shoes, which were a pair of Carnacs that I could not put on without sitting down. I've ridden with the Sidi shoes for 100 miles and they were plenty comfortable. I always take the time to put on socks on the start of the bike leg anyway, since I'm not going to win my age group, and the extra 30 seconds is no big deal. |
