Anyone else in on this one?

I know of three others that plan to be there, first time for all of us. I've got a few nerves, but this is what my goal has been all summer, nothing is stopping me now.

Steve

I'm there too. It's my only one of the season, but I've only been training since June. I hear the bike portion is fairly hilly have you heard the same?

I read that too. kinda made me nervous, but then I just started hitting a lot of hills on my rides.
I've been through Denison before on business and don't remember any huge hills, but i wasn't looking for them either.

I guess we'll know just how bad a hill in Denison can be after the 25th. :-)

Did the packet pickup thing today, and got my bike inspected. This is real. Nerves are kicking in a bit.

Spoke with some people in line, there was a very helpful person who said the "hills" are not that bad, but to be in a low gear for the bike transition. Apparently to get out of the transition area onto the course is pretty steep. He also mentioned that a piece of the run course is truly off road, not a maintained path.

As I said before I guess I'll know on Saturday. This is gonna be fun.

Yeah, I'm starting to get some butterflies as well. I'm picking up my packet after work on the way home. I'll let you know my race number so we can be on the lookout for each other.

What did you put for your swim time? I put 9min so I would be assured to start at the back somewhat. I was excited this week though when I did some 300 repeats at about 5:30. I didn't know I could go that fast!

Hey, I'm doing this one as well! How will we all meet up?

I'm starting to ge a little pangs of nervousness, but this is my 6th tri of the season so I am really too tired to get totally worked up.

Just try to have fun, and remember, I am really slow so you won't come in last!

I would love to meet both of you on Saturday. I'm going to be wearing a yellow shirt for the bike/run portion so I should stand out. Also as of today I found out I'm racer number 344!
I don't know this tri location very well so i'm sure of a good rendezvous point. Maybe someone else can make that suggestion?

I put in 7min for my swim time. I've dropped it some. (into the mid to low 6's)
Doing that kind of time is a feat based on what kind of shape i found myself in when i started training this summer.

I'll look for you guys tomorrow. I'm heading off this afternoon to pick up my packet and scout the bike course so I don't have a number yet.

And I can't remember what I put down as my swim time; I know it was something slow though.

Have a great race, folks!
