OK - this is day four of being sick. DayQuil got me through the first two days still in the saddle and running. This is day two without training (unless you count the 12K I walked yesterday) the gunk I am coughing up is definitely a sign of lung infection so it is off to the doc tomorrow for a script.

I never thought I would feel so guilty about not training even though I am sick as a dog. Very strange to go from basically doing nothing three months ago to chomping at the bit even when I know I should be resting. Well the sooner I recover the sooner I will be back in the saddle. Anyone else have these strange and misguided feelings of guilt when they don't train?

Today will be my first day training after developing a cold after Sunday's tri. I don't consider my lack of training "guilt", but I hate being so lethargic! The more I HAVE to stay home in bed, the more I WANT to get out there and run! But it's better to have a few days off and regain your health than to extend your illness and have a couple of weeks of terrible workouts because you won't allow yourself to recover.

Stupid bugs...can't they see that they get in the way of our exercise goals?!!

I came down with a slight temp and a sore throat 3 days ago. Amazingly with the "Emer'gen-C" that I'm taking once a day I've been able to maintain a high level workout and the sickness has yet to get beyond a stuffy nose (one side only lol) and an occasional cough. Temp never got over 99.4. I'm not sold on the stuff yet since this is my first time on it but if it works next time too I'll let you all know.

I've been stuck with a cold too...used EmergenC and my Yin Chiang and green tea but I wasn't as diligent as I should have been so now I'm coughing up pretty colors too.  I don't feel guilty exactly, but I definetly get edgy.  If I eat too much AND don't work out the guilt hits me like a ton of bricks tho!

I've noticed with the EmergenC that I get quite a few small muscle cramps when I use 2/day, this happen to anyone else?

I'm recovering from a stomach bug...not fun. I tried to get out to run today...but I got half a mile and my insides siezed up. It's been three days for me, and I know what you're saying about the guilt thing. I feel like I need to be out there!

I hear ya cluckin' big chicken...in the 3 weeks leading up to my first Oly last month, I got a cold, a stomach bug, and dislocated 2 toes.  It all comes with the territory.
