Pre-race routine:

1 hour early to race. Seem to be enough time to set up bike and get wetsuit on.

What would you do differently?:

Swim harder the second half. Had a little left in the tanks.

Very hard course, did not train enough on bike period. Need more hill traning for this course.

Not of raced it since I had a fractured ankle and not prepared for hills on bike.

Having my gf (Nicole) made a very big difference hear. She helped me put new socks on and my shoes. Kissed me good bye and I was off.

Had a carb drink and carb food to eat right there.

Cramping very bad. Needed to have salt tablets, lots of cramping.

Would of wore a visor (hat) and had music on.

Warm down:

Ice and food right after.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Fractured left ankle 3 weeks before race in training. Did it while swimming. Didn't know about it. Not enough bike training with hills. First triathlon race ever.

Wow, that's quite a situation for a first tri, good job finishing. Now details please: how does one fracture an ankle swimming? I'd like to know exactly how to avoid that one.
