Total Time = 59m 28s
Overall Rank = 6/60
Age Group = masters
Age Group Rank = 1/
Pre-race routine:

Had power bar & some coffee before leaving house. Stopped @ Dunkin Donuts to get kids something (a little bribery since they had to get up so early). Packet pickup, racked bike and got race #s settled.
Event warmup:

Light jogging, a few quick sprints, especially for pre-race potty stops. Also light swim warmup.
Swim
  • 09m 9s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

Tough swim as far as elbows, knees and feet are concerned. Glad that was finally
What would you do differently?:

Train! Having a tough time getting myself to the pool lately. Performance was good for the amount of swim workouts I do, but not good oveall.
Transition 1
  • 00m 33s
Comments:

Very happy wtih transition.
What would you do differently?:

Always try to go faster.
Bike
  • 30m 18s
  • 10 miles
  • 19.80 mile/hr
Comments:

Took a long time to get up to speed. A little tired from the swim. Didn't even notice until race was over, but I hardly drank on the bike. Probably not much difference since race was so short.
What would you do differently?:

Train more intervals, be more careful to drink more consistently. Also more aggressive on turns, although they're getting better.
Transition 2
  • 00m 48s
Comments:

Not quite sure why this transition was so slow. This was my first attempt to run without socks. Obviously faster than when I do put on socks, but I guess I was expecting better.
What would you do differently?:

Go a little faster out of transition once shoes are on.
Run
  • 18m 37s
  • 2.5 miles
  • 07m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

MY RUN SPLIT WAS FIRST OVERALL OF ALL FEMALES!!!!!!!!!1 I am so psyched! I've never had that happen before!!
What would you do differently?:

Push harder.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank, walked a lot, checked on the kids, chatted with friends.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training.

Event comments:

Have done this race either as duathlon or triathlon many times. Very comfortable with the course, although there are lots of turns.
