Subject: Java Chat???
Any thoughts on including some type of java based web chat feature? Not sure if there's much interest or enough demand for something like this. Might be interesting to chat real time with some of the other personalities in this zoo.

Zoo?  I'll have you know that I am a domestic cat, not a zoo cat!?!  As for java talk, I prefer espress, Illy brand, of course!

Oh, that's all I need is another reason to spend more time on BT.  It would be cool, though.

I guess in a perfect world it would be great to have. I think there's plenty of enthusiasts here to make it a positive experience. There's been plenty of times - especially with Motivated organizing the masses toward a BT tri - where some type of free flowing real time discussion would be highly beneficial. Additionally, this would also open up the opportunity to host a guest speaker/athlete etc. where fellow BT'ers would be able to throw out some questions to try to get some answers.
But......its not a perfect world....
there have been times when people with different viewpoints have posted and typed things that really weren't appropriate. I guess what I'm getting around to is the abuse factor potential. I'm really not sure how moderated something like this would have to be to prevent it from becoming a negative experience.
There are also plenty of other methods to get ahold of people (AIM, MSN, ICQ, etc) that require no effort on the site's part.
