Swim
Comments: wore watch w/ heart rate monitor around waste for swim, but forgot to turn on lap timer until i got out of the pool. also didn't have much time to adjust goggles and they were full of water for the first half of the swim. Transition 1
Comments: ok, this was not my best transition. i am not using bik shoes yet so that wasn't a problem. i am getting good at running with my bike, so that was perfect, but jumping on the bike was not great and i basically fell over. i'll get to why Removing cap, goggles and wetsuit is rated 'bad'later... Bike
Comments: i had a really good ride, but could have pushed much harder. i am still too tentative and making sure i don't blow up later. i should have gone faster, but i am concentrating on getting good at finishing long races right now, and not winning short ones. Transition 2
Comments: i placed #1 in the entire race in t2! that is a little skewed because i am not using bike shoes yet, so all i had to do was jump off and run, but it was still cool. Run
Comments: i didn't plan on running this fast and i guess shows that i should have pushed harder on the bike. i didn't drink any water because i knew i could make it to the finish and felt great. the only problem i ran into was something banging on my collarbone a mileinto the run. 'what the f is that?!?!' oh yeah, it's my goggles! i definitely did the entire race with them around my neck under my shirt. pathetic, but pretty funny. What would you do differently?: take off my goggles at t1! Post race

stayed at hotel 5 minutes away. race started at 8. woke up ~6 and had breakfast at hotel (raisin bran, banana, toast). drove to site ~7. used restroom (secret lockerooms are excellent).
set up transition area, got numbered and ate a clif bar. went for ~1mi. out and back run along the end of the race route. finished setting up transition area with sneakers, disrobed and went to pool for start.
