Happy Sunday everyone!

Wow - Halloween is almost here!  Is anyone dressing up?  What are you going to be?

We're doing a group thing, we're going to surprise our boss and he's going to be a bolwing ball and we're all going to be bowling pins.

Should be fun!

Happy Sunday! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

No dressing up for Halloween here. I work at a pretty conservative company, so no frivolity there. I haven't gotten a trick or treater in about 5 or 6 years, so I don't even bother buying candy anymore.

No dressing up for me either. In fact, I'd keep my porch light off if it weren't for Husband.

WI for me today. Down 4.2 I am beyond excited since this puts me at 5% and meets my first personal goal.

I signed up for private swim lessons and am waiting on the instructor to call me. Husband and I are off to the LBS in a bit to buy handlbar and seat stuff for his mountain bike so I can start riding and learning how to shift the gears.

We also became members of our local tri group this week.

Have a great Sunday!

Awesome job!!! You must be doing the happy dance!

You've had a busy and productive week - sign up for swim lessons, joining a tri club, great workouts and new gear - all good stuff!

Melissa, you just know we beat them all for your benefit! LOL I had to check on Husband a couple of times to make sure he was still breathing there toward the end.

Congrats Terri!! The hard work has paid off!

I am a little worried myself. I weigh in tomorrow. I had a great week, walk/jogging or elliptical machine almost everyday...but then the weekend came...I went to a friends birthday party last night, and though I had saved all 35 of my extra points and ate very lightly for the early part of the day, I think I may have overdone it! I didn't even keep track of how many points I ate--but it sure was fun!

I can't believe it is almost halloween. It felt like summer yesterday! But it is supposed to snow in the mountains tonight, so I guess it really is fall.

I will be working on halloween, but I will try to find some festive scrubs!

Wow everyone sounds like they had a wonderful weekend!

Terri what a great loss!!! I mean wow! congrats to you!

As for Halloween... We have a party EVERY year! It is MY "holiday" LOL! So yes cotumes are very required if you are going to be in the costume contest. This year we are doing a karaoke party, lol should be pretty entertaining! I am going to be a bravarian bar maid, hostess with the mostess!!! I don't know why but halloween is like the ONE childhood "holiday" that I will just not let go I love it! It is just a great excuse to be something totally different than yourself. Also it gets peoples creative juices flowing cause if they want to win that contest they have to top the year before so there is always someone that goes above and beyond to win first place.

I also get a group together to do a 5K the morning of the party so we can have a little extra fun. This year my group is up to 6 so I am really excited about that weekend!

Ok here is the updated, new and improved, log! There are a lot of missing WI's and people so I just put zeros for those that I did not have. If you are one of the zeros and it is wrong or you want me to change it now please let me know and I will get it fixed for ya!

Have a great day! Jana

Good morning!

Terry, congrats on the 5% goal.  4.2 lbs. is a HUGE loss!  Wow!

Kelly, I think that's 10% for you.  Congrats!

I work in a law firm, so dressing up for Halloween would probably be a no-no, but I do have a bar maid/Oktoberfest-type costume that I have never had a chance to wear.  I guess I'll have to break it out of the closet and see how it fits!

I'm going as a skinny person.   I won't dress up though I'll wear my orange and black chess jacket when I teach that day.

Pardon me... can I ask what program you all follow? I am doing my 3rd and final Sprint Tri for the year on Sunday and want to be on WW come Monday. With all the training and the sports replacement drinks/foods what plan works best? Core? Flex? My husband also wants to lose 10 lbs by March, he is signed up for a double century ride.

I use flex. I thought about changing over to CORE but my instructor and a couple of athletes in my meeting told me to stick with flex since I'm getting more activity points and can compensate the use of protein drinks with them. If I use my activity points and regular points, I barely use 1/2 of my weekly points and those are usually for my "free" day on Sunday and my 1 night out to eat with the husband.

Thank you. That's what I wanted to know. One of the people in my training group wasn't eating enough with all her training. I am not sure what program she was following though.

I had my weigh in today and was down 3.8 this week. So, I got rid of nearly all of the gain last week from the stress eating and steroids!!

Melissa that is so wonderful!! CONGRATS!!
I just want you and Terri to know that your weight loss this week has really been motivating and insiprational to me at what has been the start of a BLAH week so thanks a bunch!

Well I am not scheduled for a DOR today but I am taking one. I will be make up for it mid week with a planned session with my friend who is a personal trainer. She wants to get some practice sessions in with someone before she really starts seeing clients so I get to be the guinea pig for FREE WHOOO HOOO!!! See I think Beth's ability to rationalize things is rubbing off on me! LOL At least I hope so anyway!

The company I work for sells toys and novelties - fun stuff for kids, soooooooooooo the dressing up thing is almost expected.

Although, I did bow out the last few years - just wasn't into it.  I probably wouldn't have this year, but someone suggested a group idea and I don't want to be the party pooper!

Emily - We've all done exactly what you described - just remember your advice to me last week!  (see how that stuff comes back to haunt you - lolol)

My WW leader made a great analogy that I meant to share with all of you.  She compared falling off plan with a car dent.  We were talking about how its' so easy to 'rationalize' really, really blowing it for days or weeks at a time just because we had one bad meal or bad day or whatever.

She said - think of those mishaps as you would a car dent - you wouldn't get a dent in your car and then turn around and total it, just because you got a little dent.

Moral of the story - don't 'total' your week, just cuz you got a dent!

I really liked that one!

GREAT analogy! I've always heard the one about just because you broke one egg in the carton, would you break the rest? The car dent really hits home more with me since I can't even remember the last time I bought actual eggs. I always buy Egg Beaters. LOL

Jana - Thanks! Enjoy your free training sessions. That's awesome!!

I absoulutely love the car dent analogy! I will definitely be using that in the future!

I weighed in last night, and I am down 0.3 lb. But, considering the party on Saturday and the fact that I haven't worked out in 4 days, I will take the loss!!

I seem to be fighting off a sinus infection as of yesterday morning. It is really fun I have been carrying a box of tissues with me everywhere I go, and get dizzy if I stand for more than a few minutes. I plan to take it pretty easy for a few days, so hopefully I can get rid of it soon!

Great job everyone! I am so impressed (and motivated by) the all the hard work!

I'm a research assistant, so no costumes at work for me :-)

However, it looks like I might be doing a Halloween 5k, which will be in costume.

As for WW...haven't started yet, but I'm managing to maintain despite some emotional eating...which is good :-)
