Silver Comet 1/2 Marathon - Run

Run
Comments: I started out at a good pace about 8:30 per mile and kept it for about 3 miles. then I slowed to about a 9:30 mile until around mile 8 or so. Then somewhere around mile 10 I got tired and slowed to a 10-11 min. mile. The last mile I was able to pick back up to a 9:30 mile but I was wooped. Post race
Warm down: helped myself to doughnuts, bagles, pizza, bread and water. picked-up the fiishers medal and t-shirt and talked with Karl about the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was the first time I had run that far, and was undertrained. Event comments: It was a well attended race, on a nice course and on a beautiful day. I was thrilled to be able to run a 1/2 marathon, but I payed for it with sore legs all Saturday and Sunday. Last updated: 2004-11-01 12:00 AM

Took the whole family to the race. pulling 5 kids out of bed at 5am on a Sturday is a workout in itself. Got to the race area about an hour early and enjoyed the morning.
