If I were going to be trained, I would most definitely pick BOB. He's a great motivator without being harsh. And I never could decide if he was straight or gay.... mostly he's just Bob.

I think Jillian rocks in terms of how fit she is. I want to be her.... you know.... how kick butt she is. I love the one armed push ups that she does in the show's intro. I do think she cares about her team as individuals and not just if they win the challenges and the weigh ins. I think it speaks volumes that the other girl (can't remember her name) only has one contestant left.

While Jillian is more of an in your face trainer, she really kicks butt herself.

But Bob is my true favorite. *sigh*

Me being a glutton for punishment and a closet masochist I would definitely opt for Jillian. I'd eat Bob for lunch! He's way too nice! Oh and why is this a guilty pleasure? I think TBL is one of the best reality shows out there. Sure beats watching a bunch of societal idiotic misfits "outwit, outlast and outplay..." each other.

House is my Tuesday show, too.  I DVR TBL and watch it after House so I can zip through all the commercials as well as their stupid, dramatic pauses.  I love TBL but seriously, do you have to make it so freakin' dramatic!  The show last week was 90 minutes.  Could have been done in 44.

Jillian rocks.  I may have to use her as my new avatar when this one gets old.

Hopefully it won't be like the tri they did on the Bachelor .... swim some laps in a 15 yard pool, ride an excercise bike for "x" distance and then run laps around the pool .... what a joke that was.

But if I remember from other seasons, don't they have a real pool in their facility?  At least a 25 yard one?

The show is inspirational but depressing at the same time because from my understanding most of the people end up gaining all the weight back and more after the show is over.

Andy Baldwin, The Bachelor....yeah, I crushed him in Kona

My wife and I watch TBL, too. And Survivor. And The Amazing Race. And It's Not Easy Being Green. And What Not To Wear. And The Girls Next Door. And Dancing With the Stars. We are so pathetic!

I watch TBL as well.  Jillian rocks!  My biggest problem with the show is that they ONLY count weight.  What about body fat %?  They could lose 50 lb's of fat and gain 50 lb's of muscle     (exaggeration) and they are going home.   I feel body compostion is much more inportant then JUST weight loss.  My .02.

Another closet TBL fan here...although I don't have a DVR, so I flip back & forth when House comes on...

Jillian scares the beejeezus out of me, in a good way. Bob...I think he'd be too nice to be my trainer, and the third one just sucks. (I can't remember her name she sucks so much.)

I liked the idea of the tri, but I thought the execution was a bit cheesy. Hollie did put in a nice swim though - I envy it.

And someday, Kae has got to stop losing. I don't know how she does it, but someday it's going to end.

My 2c.

The tri was totally not fair. Kae won the bike and run and then everyone starts again even in the swim. 1.5 K run and 1 K swim...come on....I knew when they started who ever swam fastest would win how they set it up.

I like the show. The one drawback I see is regular fat folks need to have a realistic idea of normal weight loss. Folks like Kae who weigh 162 don't lose 4-5 pounds a week. I think it sets up unrealistic expectations of weight loss.

I dislike Amy and so glad she went home. I was surprised she did well at home as she was a whiner and complainer all the time on the show. I'm glad she had success and even happier she is off the show.

Shoeless - 2007-11-12 12:16 AM How fast would I gain weight if I quit tri training?

I'm not sure if this is a serious question or not but it depends on how much change you're had in your life since you started tri training. I've lost 30 lbs since last July and I thought it was mainly because of my training but then I realized all the lifestyle changes that come with tri training. I eat better when I'm training....I keep training because I like it and I continue to eat better because it affects my training when I don't. I can't eat like we used to, I feel awful for hours afterwards.

I like the show too, my husband thinks I'm weird. Anyway, last season they did one also. It was short, something like 200/6/2. It seems really short for us but for those folks it seemed like the finish was unattainable and it was neat to see them finish and to have that sense of accomplishment.

to answer your not so serious question from above.......i would agree.  i did my first tri back in july and have been training seriously since then and have dropped 46 lbs (from 197 down to 151).  i totally eat much better now. even soda tastes terrible.  on top of that i am sleeping throughout the entire night for the first time in decades!!

i agree that the weight losses are absolutely ridiculous.....but they exercise for hours and hours every day so I guess that's what you get.

I thought the tri was sucky in that they had to wait for everyone to finish before starting the next event. Not exactly the fairest way b/c you get no advantage for any lead.

And I'm glad Amy is gone. She annoyed me to no end!

I told my wife the same thing. They should have been running sooner off the bike and swimming faster off the run. There was no advantage to Kae. They should have timed each event then added the times to get the winner. 1k swim in 40 laps made the pool 40ft long. I wonder if it was down was 1 lap and back was another lap. That would make more sense. It would be 20 down and back laps and that makes it a 25yd. pool. I love all the before pictures that keep popping up. You just don't realize how far they have come until you see those photos.
