I went up to the IronMan site to look at results and the photos. The 1st page has a guy pushing another man in a wheelchair.

http://www.ironman.com/events/ironman70.3/worldchampionship70.3/?sh...

Just wondering what the story is on these two. I just started triathlon this year so i don't know all the famous people.

If this guy can qualify pushing another man in a wheelchair he must be Krypton.
Did they do all three legs or just the run.

Yup, the Hoyts.  I'm reading their biography book right now It's Only a Mountain that my wife got for me at a trade show signed from them.

They started out running together (dad pushing son) and really got involved in the New England racing scene, then expanded out into tris (including multiple Kona finishes) and even road/ran accross the entire country one year.  Their marathon PR is in the 2:40 range ...... which is just f-cking sick to begin with, let alone pushing someone else while doing it!!!

Truly inspirational and helped to change the way disabled people are treated in this world.

The Hoyts are still competing? That's awesome!  I thought Dick said last year's Kona was it for them, but maybe he meant the 140.6 distance.  Very cool to see them still racing.

I think they are not doing IM's anymore.  Concentrating on the 70.3 distance

They live in MA and often come to the local tris and local road races.

I've raced with them a couple times and always get emotional seeing them as they are so inspiring. They are so fast on the run....amazing.

Interesting as I have heard of a few other local triathletes with disabled children who race with their kids I'm sure after being inspired by the Hoyts.

Yeah, they raced Timberman this year. It was really cool to see them there. We got to watch them get into the water at the swim start, everyone was clapping and cheering, it was really cool. I think I even shed a tear. I also saw them out on the bike; we crossed paths when I was on the back portion and they were on the out portion. It was a great motivator to see them out on the course like that. Unfortunately, I did not catch them finish.
