9.2 mile general aerobic with 10 x 100 strides mixed in.  I was beat!!  Last week must have taken a lot out of me (and it is supposed to be one of the "easier" weeks in the schedule .... gulp .....).  But I did still manage to average a 7:36 pace for the overall run ......

I wanted to train but I didn't get a chance and now I am working so unless I get into a foot chase there probably won't be a workout.

Probably not, its not only Christmas, but my Sons Birthday as well.....

Tell your son happy birthday for me, its also my birthday. The number one question he will hear the rest of his life "did you ever feel cheated having your birthday on Christmas". His answer should always be "no its just convenient for mom and dad".

Merry Christmas

Today was my first day back on the bike after knee surgery 2 weeks ago. Had a small piece of torn cartilage removed from the left knee. I've not been riding since my last tri in mid-October and this was the first day my doctor said I'd be OK to get on a bike, so I wasn't about to miss training for any excuse.

Besides, my son's high school running team (cross-country transitioning to track season at this time of year) was doing a 1 hour training run today. So I drove him to practice and did my ride while he did his run. They had about a dozen pretty dedicated kids show up. As the coach says, "Christmas? It's just another training day in Ethiopia."

I'm pleased to report that my knee has not given me any trouble since the surgery. I was able to do the almost 20 mile beach bike path ride from Redondo Beach to Marina del Rey and back in just over an hour with no pain at all. Planning a 30 mile ride on the 27th, and building it back up from there.

Weight Workout Early AM
Followed by and easy 5 miler. All Before the family made it up. No early risers except me and and my Jack Ruussel Terrier at this house. I take her for a couple mile walk first to get warmed up.

I did a quick 20 min run and some pull ups. Today I did a slightly longer 50 min run.
