Nice - I'll keep my eye out for it! If I can't get my act together for the 1/2, I'd consider the sprint too. I wonder if it sells out quickly?

It is a hilly course unless they have changed it. Nice lake to swim in though. I did the sprint last year, top notch organisation.

Yep, made that mistake last year, it was colddddddd!!!!!! I just can't justify wearing a wetsuit for a sprint though.

It's a good race, it's my coaching club that puts it on (LifeSport) and they are a great group of people who do anything and everything possible to ensure a good race. Last year I volunteered when I didn't participate, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

How hilly is hilly? Bike course and/or the run course?

Question about the swim...I'm pretty nervous about doing an open water swim. (My 4 tri's have all been pool swims) I know I'm going to need a lot of work in the endurance side of things, but also the confidence. 4 loops sounds better to me than one triangle lap. Thoughts for a first timer??

Thanks everyone

STart of the bike is pretty easy, just some rolling roads, but then about halfway through there is a pretty tough hill, people were struggling up it, a few people were walking there bikes up. After that there are some more hills but nothing like the one at the halfway point. If you are doing the sprint it is only one lap, half iron is 4 laps. For the run, you basically run dowhill towards the turnaround and then back up hill towards the finish so save something in the early part of the run and you should be fine.
