Any civilized way to eliminate this problem? Except spitting?

Blowing

I don't think I ever just plain spit in them. First I dip them in the water. Then my face dips in the water. Then with tight lips I blow into my goggles a fine spray of spit/water. The more times I repeat these steps the worse the fogging gets. Once my goggles are on my face, they useually stay on for the rest of the swim.

So far, spiting in the gaggles, or licking them, and then dip them into water was the only efican way for me. And about glasses, U can buy the expensive ones, which do not get fogy because they have some kind of foam on them. Or U can try with defog spray. It can be bought in most of the optical shops, or specialised paintball shops.

get some defogging spray. you can get it at any scuba shop. it works great. you can apply it to the goggles at home so you don't have yet another thing to carry to the pool and it seems to last 3-4 swims.

Foggy goggles are caused by oils that get on the inside of the lenses. Take your goggles and wash them out with a mild detergent and use a paper towel to wipe them off. Do not touch the inside of the lenses with your fingers. Make sure to rinse all the soap off. When at the pool dip them in the water to get them wet and then lick the inside of each lense. Rinse slightly again and then put them on. Rewash the lenses with soap every few months. I haven't had foggy goggles since I started doing this over a year ago.

Using anti-fogging solutions on top of oily lenses is not very effective. If you plan on using any off the shelf anti-fogging solutions you should still wash the lenses first.

When scuba diving they make all kinds of products that are supposed to prevent fogging but I think spit works the best......

Liquid soap!  If you've got a small spray bottle, fill it with 1 part liquid soap to 4 parts water.  Spray a little in the lenses, then dunk once in the pool to rinse out suds (don't rub it around though, just swirl it to cover the lens).

I don't have a small spray bottle, so when I shower prior to hitting the pool, I put a few squirts of soap in each lens, swirl, then briefly rinse in the shower.

I use Cat Crap too.. It works great. You can also use it on ski goggles, and sunglasses. You should be able to get it out of any litterbox... I mean ski shop or sporting goods store.

Baby shampoo. I read this somewhere in a previous post. I went out and bought a little bottle and it really works.

I just invested $13 for a pair of goggles!!!! What a difference from my cheapy..... It has an anti-fog treatment on it and it done's fog. Actually it stays on my face without the strap for more than a few seconds. It fits my face well. I guess that is important. I didn't know that pool bottom was that clear. I am not sure how long it will last but for now I am very happy that I don't have to remove/wipe/spit on it. With the cheapy one, I put cat crapt on it - didn't do a thing.

Good luck for finding a good pair/solution to the annoying problem.
