  • Comments: After the rain stopped this turned out to be a great event. Perfect weather through out and the wet road didnt make much of a difference to me. I ended up getting a PR on the triathlon overall, which completely blew my mind. Plus I got to meet a couple of BTers.

  • Comments: Considering what the race planner (Tom Ryan) was up against... rain/thunder/lightening... he did a great job of getting this race to go off. Even though we started late, we still made it happen. Unfortuantely, the Olympic distance was pretty much scratched, since they had to close off the roads to cyclists at a certain time. I am sure some of those racers were pretty upset about this change. The volunteers were plentiful and I never felt like I didn't know where to turn/go/etc. Overall, I had a great race, and considering that I hardly trained for the swim, and didn't train at all for the run (due to injuries), I think I did pretty darn good! I was just lucky to be out there. I have no complaints. Sure, if it hadn't rained, that would have been *perfect*, as rain puts me in a foul mood... but the race went off and I was just happy to be racing!

  • Comments: I didn't miss the sprint turnaround but I heard more than a couple people did. It was easy to miss if you weren't looking, maybe they could mark it better next time. Also the bike racks weren't very organized. I'm probably spoiled by Ironhead and their OCD tendencies, but setting up the racks organized by your bib number is a nice touch. I'm giving it a 3/5 because of the weather, which is obviously completely out of the organizers' control. They did the best they could in the circumstances. If there hadn't been any rain this race would get a 4/5. Tom and crew did a great job dealing with the weather issue, and they held up well when everything could have(literally and figuratively) gone down the drain.
