  • Comments: The volunteers were great! The race itself seemed pretty well organized, but they should consider having the 10K start at a different time (different day?, same day, different route?, something...) The course is relatively flat, but not completely.

  • Comments: fun race for first marathon, really enjoyed the first 16 miles while feeling good, hot day so the last 3-4 were really tough, but that makes it worthwhile

  • Comments: THIS IS THE LETTER I SENT THE RACE DIRECTOR. Dear Sir or Madame: Let me start by saying I love the city of Cleveland and the people were as nice as anywhere in the world. The race was amazing up until mile 12-13. The marathon seems like an afterthought. When you publish 19,000 runners that figure is completely misleading. The race may be better as a half marathon. That being said, I could have overcome the weak marathon numbers in the marathon and expo in an abandoned Kmart. The final straw was the complete failure to have the proper finish. I have run many races at multiple distances and 2 other marathons. I cannot believe the lack of planning. I ran 26.2 miles in fog, rain, wind, and cold. I was expecting a proper finishing area. It was severely lacking. I could not believe that there was not a Mylar blanket. I am sure you knew the weather conditions. It was 50 degrees and raining. I proceeded to walk shivering to the massage tent. They were packing up. I could

  • Comments: It was my first time doing this race, but I was quite impressed. Much better than the Cleveland Triathlon, IMO. Parking was better, more volunteers, less confusion. I would definitely do it again!

  • Comments: This is a fantastic event. The course is very flat and there are lots of aid stations. It's quite beautiful in many spots as well. You really get to see a lot of Cleveland through the race. I'd highly recommend it as a first marathon. It's also a bit "weak" as far as really fast times go, so if you are fast it's a good marathon to place well in.

  • Comments: It was wet! Good race. Put it all out there on the course. Didn't have much left for a good sprint to the finish line, but I did give what I had left for a sprint. Age group winners 1 & 2 in 07 placed 1 & 2 again this year. Their times were slower in 08. My time this year was 43 seconds faster than last year. The 10K course was changed this year. Looking at this years 10K course elevation chart makes it look pretty flat. Well, there was one rather long gradual incline in the later miles of the course which was a bit stressful. I think perhaps running last years course was easier. Almost forgot, 48:45 was a 10K, PR for me today!
