To all current and future triathletes:
Do you want to improve your swim stroke, get in shape, and meet other triathletes in Ames?
Group triathlon training classes have a proven track record of being fun and productive.
What: Triathlon Training Class in Ames, Iowa
Coached swimming with stroke feedback
Running in pace groups
Technical lectures and demos on how to train smart
Who: We support all ability levels from total beginner to elite athletes.
Participants will be given workouts appropriate for their abilities.
Swim will have separate lanes for beginners, intermediates, and advanced swimmers.
Beginning swimmers get group swim lessons.
Intermediate and advanced swimmers get swim-team style workouts.
When: Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:30pm,
October 16th through December 18th, no class November 27th.
The first hour will have running or technical lecture/demos.
You can come late if you must.
Swimming is 6:30-7:30 each night.
Instructors: Classes are led by Mike Garton and the staff of Rocket Science Coaching. Mike has led the largest and most successful group triathlon program in the state for the last few years (in Ankeny). He is the head coach of Rocket Science Coaching (www.rocketsciencecoaching.com), a USA Triathlon Level II Coach, USA Cycling Level II Coach, ACSM CPT, FIST Certified triathlon bike fitter, Coach of the ISU Triathlon Club, Programs and Training Director (and past president 2006-2008) of the Triracers club www.triracers.com.
Cost: $120
Required equipment: a swim suit, goggles, and running gear.
Pre-registration required. Space is limited. The class will fill on a first-come-first-serve basis.
