Subject: RE: Outside of Foot Pain Stretching the calves will help a lot with PF. Tight calf muscles are one of the leading causes of PF. Icing the bottom of your foot (heel/arch ) will help bring down the inflammation too. I usually ice with a frozen water bottle and roll it under my foot. My PF got so bad, that I ended up getting a corisone injection (which didn't help at all ) and custom orthotics. The orthotics do seem to be helping the heel pain somewhat, but unfortunately they have also exacerbated another problem (neuroma ) on my other foot. It's hard to say what your recovery time will be...mine has bothered me for well over 6 months now. |
