peteweb55403 - 2011-10-04 5:37 PM 85 degrees and dry in October.  Cool

And while that's all well and good, the winds are coming tomorrow, for three days.  And I've got to ride 30 tomorrow and 40 on Thursday.  And 60 on Saturday.

Ha! I just saw my post from mid July. I have not mowed the grass since then. I think I really did kill it. Somehow our hay field produced a tiny 3rd crop of hay (36 bales), but otherwise, nothing is growing. Can't say I'm too sad about 80* temps though.

This is perfect training weather for your upcoming race!  No complaining.

Since this is the "Whine about the weather thread," I thought I'd simply add that there are a lot of leaves falling onto the bike trails this week. Of course, at least they're still dry... anyway, thought I'd at least try to complain...

I'm disappointed that even with this great weather, the sun still sets in the early evening.  I'm too lazy to hook up all the lights and reflectors, so any bike rides longer than a couple of hours will have to wait until the weekend.

Though, maybe that belongs on the "Whine About the Earth's Rotation" thread.

I have the same grievance. I think it's the weather's fault for being so darn nice and amenable to bike riding, despite the available sunlight.  If it were crappy/snowing/raining, we couldn't care.  Kind of goes with the leaf thing, too.

The temps have been pretty good lately...

But the ice is what kills me!  I tried to go for a run last night and my neighborhood streets were one patch of ice after another.  Grrr.

FoggyGoggles - 2011-12-02 11:55 AM The LRT trail had a nice small layer of snow with little to no ice. Great running conditions yesterday!

That's good news!  I will have to check out the gravel trails this weekend.   They regraded the LRT near LAF (north of Mtka Mills Rd), so I am hopeful it won't have the puddling/icing that it usually suffers in that direction too.

Taking the kayaks out on the St. Croix tomorrow and camping tomorrow night...yeah, I might be a little bit crazy.  Gotta enjoy it while I can.

CompuTrainer is all set up at home and I did my first treadmill run in a long time this week.  I think I'll be ok with winter training....for a little while.  Also got skate skis last week so I'll be easing off the running for a bit.

True!  I went out on the trail today and stuck to the edges, I did have a few moments of "oh crap" when my foot hit a spot with some ice.

The lakes were plowed when I got there at 7 this morning.  The weather was great and there were tons of people out!

The high is only going to be 26 today.  Boo hoo!

(This was on page 2, for shame!  Guess it's been a pretty nice winter)

I'm still having dreams about taking a sledgehammer out to Lake Bryant and making myself a swim lane.

Just sayin'...

I'll watch and call the paramedics for you.

A chainsaw works better, although a sledge hammer would be a better work out...  I'll join you!  (I'm well insulated)..

Ha!  If you really want to jump into the frozen lake, I think they will be doing just that on lake Calhoun this weekend for some fund-raiser..
