Who complains about having to work out OUTSIDE for a week?

I cannot imagine how sick I would be of treadmills, ellipticals, stairclimbers by now... I would be thrilled to be outside!

Yep me too.

When they are in the gym for hours and hours, I wondered if I was there if they'd let me ride a bike outside for hours and hours..same good workout but better scenery.

They are used to their little cocoon where they do the machines and strength training add in the weird stuff Jillian and Bob add and they are content.

The least amount of time I can spend at the Y in the cardio section the better.

Yeah, I can't stand working out inside of the gym.  But to each his/her own.

I'm sure it's much easier for the trainers - and more comforting for the contestants, because they can see improvements with time, level on each machine, etc....

but how horribly boring!

On a side note, did you hear that blond drop an F-bomb while she was running up the hill for keys?? We rewinded to make sure we heard her right. Unsensored F-bomb during prime time. Good work editing crew!!

And then Jillian flilps over working out outside. Who would have thought the tough girl was afraid of the dirt?

my wife and I thought that too.  She looked like the 'outdoor' type too.

I thought that rowing machine challenge was kind of mean too.  Lets take a group of people that do a lot of strength training with a splash of cardio, then throw them into a challenge that is pure aerobic endurance.

I don't know why I watch this show, but I do.

Bob had the more creative workouts. Running on the beach and carrying logs - great stuff. If I wasn't self-conscious about the neighbors watching, I'd grab some weights and go for a nice walk around the block.

Jillian was doing stupid stuff. Best workout she could have done and remain inside like she wanted was to find a room in the ranch with lots of heavy furniture. Move the furniture outside. Move the furniture back inside. Repeat as needed.

...And, yet, look where their respective contestants finished this week: Jillian's at the top, Bob's all at the bottom.

I lost a little respect. How could she be so turned off by being outside? "It's dirty and filthy"? HTFU!

Is it me or does it seem as the seasons have progressed, Bob has gotten harder on his people and Jullian is getting softer?  I soooo didn't expect Jullian to react to the outdoors like that.  Bob workouts looked more fun/challenging then Jullians.

Personally, I work in the gym a lot, b/c I pay for it, so I want to get the most for my money.  However, I love to be outdoors with the fresh air.....especially since last week I had a guy on the elliptical next to me farting the whole time....pewwwwwww.  (there were no other ellipticals open at the time so I worked out in the "atoms of poop" in the air)

I was thinking the same thing about the beach, the trails, and the pool. Who needs a gym!! :D I was wondering why they didn't have a set of mtn or hybrid bikes for them to go ride around!

I was frankly surprised at how upset everyone was with working out outside.  Seriously, I don't have an expensive gym membership so other than the pool it's really a back-up plan. I am doing tempo runs and swimming there.  It just bugs me how people compartmentalize exercise to the gym and that's the only place it can be done.

But then that's why I want to tri! :D

I don't know why I watch this show, but I do.

I am not a regular watcher but when I do watch I ask myself why. I feel uncomfortable watching people that large struggle through workouts and I don't know why. Plus, I do not like the way it is produced and presented. There is so much more going on that we do not see. Cut all the drama and the "reality show" BS and show me more details about their workouts, their nutrition, their daily lives. How do they really spend their time? What do they do with down time? Do they get any counseling/therapy/education around health, nutrition, emotional well being, eating disorders, etc.? I want to see all that, not 45 minutes of weigh in drama then voting people off with the stupid serving tray and then the "dramatic" turning off of the light.

That would be awesome! And probably much more helpful to the average viewer who is looking to be inspired to loose weight.

I don't mind the weigh-in drama (I think it's fun to see their reactions and the comments afterward), it's the voting off drama that is stupid to me.

I might be being picky, but Bob came across a little like a baby last night.

He said "if you are not going to do what I say, don't ask me for advice" (about playing the game).

I see his point, but I would have responded that I needed his advice, but WE are playing the game.  We take everything into account during the vote, and make a decision.  This time, getting rid of Dane (?) to let him see his baby was the compassionate move.

Just because they didn't listen to him on this one vote, don't pout about it and say don't ask for advice anymore...

Allison is no "jeff" from survivor.  She just isn't very exciting.  She needs some help with her "play by play" skills.

Anyone else intrigued by the teaser for next week?  Splitting up the teams?  Cool....

Did you also notice they said "next Tues & Wed"...   Looks like it's going to be a 2 parter!

booyah!  I'm addicted to that show.  It's the show I most look forward to seeing.  I can DVR everything else, but I have to watch BL the time it airs...

I agree the nutrition and more information about how much they really work out would rock. The brown team son needed to eat more so he'd lose weight for last two weeks Bob said. Now how much was he eating and how much more did he eat to make the difference.

The weigh ins go on and on with commercial breaks they repeat parts before the commercial break and again after wards...come on we do have the attention span and memory greater than a 2 year old.

I would like to know what a typical day is like for eating and working out, what they do in their down time, stuff like that.

I do like they seem to be doing more to show folks they can lose on their own at home with the players being sent home for a month and no gym workouts. But the idea that losing 5 pounds in a week is not good enough doesn't ring true with most Americans who struggle to lose 5 pounds in a month.

I like the show but think they could tweak it to be better...better host who can do play by play, more education to help Americans who want to lose weight just to name a couple things cut down on drama for weigh in and elimination portion of the show.

I thought it was messed up that Bob was telling them to vote off the person that needed the most help (or is the biggest threat).  He's supposed to be a trainer -even if its the other team, he should be wanting to help people succeed or at a minimum be neutral.

I wonder how much of the "OMG we have to work outside" crap is coached to add percieved drama.

Still better than last season.

To find the information you are looking for, you have to buy thier books about the show.  They work out about 4 hours a day, morning and evening.  They also go over nutrition and such.  I wish the show would go more into detail about that too.  But, then why would they sell the books?
