![]() Run
What would you do differently?: Nothing. It was a pretty good run. I'd like to be more conditioned, but I'm not unhappy with the results. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked home, approx. 1 mile. Stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Conditioning. Logistics of attempting to surge around slower runners -- course was narrow and it was hard to sprint around walking runners. Event comments: I will do this race again, because the event is part of the Twilight Criterium and there are therefore a looooot of great activities scheduled around it. Plus, Athens rules. It's always fun. However, the race was organized poorly. Registration was backed up, which backed up the actual race. Pre-event signage, indicating the location of the race, food, drink, etc, was nonexistent, and after the race there were several bottlenecks as people tried to access water. To their credit, this is Swagger's second Twilight Race and they are primarily a facilitator of bicycling races. You can tell. Still, yay Athens. The course was great, and the weather was beautiful. Got up around 6:30, ate a small piece of CLIF bar.
Walked to start/registration, walked t-shirts home and back, milled around and stretched. Approx. 2 miles pre-race walk.
