airbornefoxtrot - 2009-09-22 9:57 PM Josh, i hope youre right.
With my last leg going from 3.6 to 8.8....im gonna need all the help i can get.
I hope no one is expecting any stellar times from me on that leg!
talk soon!

I've been training for the distance and lost some of my mileage so I wouldn't mind switching legs.

strates - 2009-09-22 4:50 PM Did they not update the maps yet? It still shows us finishing in front of the Capitol... kind of interested how they are going to get us to RFK.

Just snooping - but the updated maps are in the Race Bible. They have not updated the links to the course maps elsewhere on the site. At the team captain's meeting, the RD said that he would update the Race Bible first since that contains everything we need, including the individual maps.

WTF?? When was the team captains meeting?? I didn't get an email about it...

Patience Steve! (and check your inbox)

Seriously, they never sent you an email? Have you gotten all of the other emails from the Ragnar folks, like the one we just got that said the Race Bible was updated? That one had the meeting minutes in i - if you didn't and want the minutes, PM me your email and I'll forward it to you. It was on Friday, but it was in South Arlington, so that might have been far for you to come anyway.

Perhaps we should confirm our registration

Also, as we consider re-assigning legs, can we try to do it so that our pacing gives me the best chance of passing wurkit's team (who I think starts before us) on one of the #7 legs

Do all the re-assigning you want, still not going to happen.

Luis and I go first ...... that's 15 miles of major azz kickage right there.  We'll gain 15 - 30 minutes on the VA crew right off the bat in those miles - possibly even more if we cut it loose and run in the 6's instead of 7's.

Is this Luis from the HoCo Striders?  That guys in insanely fast if so...

If I was part fo the VA group... uhh I'd be nervous.  And wait isn't James there too ... didn't James run like a 4:30 mile when he was 12?

Yes, Luis from HoCo Striders.  And he is taking James' place as he couldn't do Chessieman and Ragnar on the same day!

We know we're not the fastest team. We know that your team will beat us in overall time. That's okay - it's still fun to smack talk

Don't worry, I still got the meeting minutes email - just no invite to the meeting.

And we should be finishing about the same time as the VA team... so perhaps we can pass them.. and maaaybe we could do it on leg 31... we should exchange #s so we can keep tabs on each other Wink

Jenn you should join.  I think they still need a 12th.

Wurkit conceded the race based on predicted pace already.  But that doesn't mean there's not the race within the race that takes place by watch splits on legs 7, 19, and 31.  Traci says she can't wait to buy me some octoberfest at the finish!

We have exchanged cells and splits will be shared.  I'm not worried about winning there - that's in the bag.  I just think it would be icing on the cake if our team could overtake them on leg 31.  Too bad there aren't aid stations between exchanges because I'm sure I could pass her while she tries to drink and run at the same time - blasted dixie cups have always been her downfall.

We actually filled our team as of Tuesday, thankfully.
