Subject: one year later...

Monday marked my 1 year anniversary with BT.  I keep thinking about how much my life has changed during that year.

Then:

  • Hated being 254 pounds
  • I had a glimmer of hope that if I worked really hard I'd be able to compete a super-sprint triathlon.
  • I was excited when I could run 1 mile non-stop (as hard as I could go and it still took almost 14 minutes)
  • Swimming 100 yards was a big accomplishment
  • Dreamed of being able to do a flip turn or butterfly stroke
  • Food was my best friend/worst enemy.

Now:

  • The 4 mile loop I mapped out is now my "short" run.
  • I recently logged a 2800 yard swim.
  • Almost 50 pounds lighter and in better shape than I've ever been.
  • Food is fuel.
  • I'm training for a marathon.

After a really grueling bike course during last week's race, I found myself thinking, "If I can make it through that bike course, I can do anything!"

Thanks, Ron, and all you other BTers for helping me change my life!
