Rotorkim - 2010-03-21 8:44 PM Congrats to everyone who competed, finished, and placed!

BT'ers kicked butt in the Olympic distance:

Dean - 3:00:11 3rd AG, 15th overall men
WillP - 3:09:33 3rd AG, 19th overall men
Dustin - 3:10:58 7th AG, 23rd overall men
Elliot - 3:16:42 2nd AG, 31st overall men
Adela - 3:55:51 4th AG, 15th overall women
Kim - 4:08:54 2nd AG, 20th overall women

Sorry if I missed anyone, and I didn't know any BT'ers doing the Sprint.

Thanks for the putting up the link to the pics Kim!  Most of us do not look very happy in the ones prior to the race start Smile

Slidell4life - 2010-03-22 11:05 AM Wow, Joe.  Nice recap.

"1 guy got "blown" off his bike going at 40mph downhill. Bloodied and his Argon 18 E114 with disc rear and deep front was in worse shape than his body"

I might know this guy. I must call him.

I saw this happen. He was going downhill fast as I was grinding up that huge hill on my first loop. I heard him yelling, "No, no, oh sh*t!" and when I looked over, he was already in the dirt and a second or two later he and his bike flipped. He rolled for a bit in the dirt as I went past on the other side of the road. I wondered for a minute whether to stop and help, but he was still cursing and getting up, so I figured he wasn't hurt bad like when Dean flipped on the asphalt. I think being in the dirt helped cushion the blow.  I felt really bad for the guy, and am glad to know he really is ok.

I am so glad that I didn't choose to do this race so early in my tri "career". Maybe next year but I have a long way to go to finish that race.

I say a big congratulations to anyone who even started that race.

I think the kid that had the broken hand was doing the sprint distance and he took first place overall....with a broken hand and he was only 15. Amazing.

That was a SUPER tough course! I registered at the last minute and had never been to Bartlett before, so it was quite a surprise for me. My slowest oly time ever! Congrats to everyone for conquering this beast!

Man, this was an experiance for me.  It was my 1st open water swim and 1st Oly tri.  Just had a few sprints under my belt that I took care of down here at the UA.  Man, was it a completely, I mean COMPLETELY different ball game..  I was a little disappointed about my ride time.  Oh well, next time.. Yeah, I even heard that some of the athletes had to re-group them selves after the swim by taking a knee for a minute..  I know I was friggin lost when I got to shore.  Heck, I was lost in lake, hahaha. When I was in the water, I couldn't wait to get on the bike, when I was on the bike, I couldn't wait to get on my feet!! Good times, good times... I know what I need to train on, and I will be back....

Just reconnected with an old friend on Facebook... he was the guy who crashed...

Frame was broken, but he's racing in Rocky Point next weekend.
