I thought it would be fun to have a thread where people can pile in their goals for this season, then we can come back here and check at the end of the season to see how it went.

Post up what you got and vote in the poll. You can vote for as many as you like but the poll is for your big goal or goals!

My big goal is to focus on my running, both endurance and speed!

Continue ACL rehab so I can run again, it's been over a year.

Oh, and the century ride and 1.3 mile open water swim that I signed up for.

Increase Swim, Bike, and Run speed and endurance.  Plus make it through the season healthy.

Hoping to improve on my IM time on the 2nd go-round.  (Actually, my main goal is to get to the starting line without and injury this time...that will probably take care of the time improvement goal.)

I'll try to squeeze in a tri among all the running races I've already committed to. I've got at least 3 running races in each month during May, June, July, and August. That includes 1 marathon, 3 half marathons, 2 10 mile races, and several shorter races. All that plus two different family trips doesn't leave much time. I may be able to get in a sprint in September. Travel to a late year race is not in the budget.

So my goals are running related. Qualify for Boston again, and win my age group in one of the multi-race series I'm doing.

Stay injury free.  Break 5:45 on a HIM and finish IM FL with a decent time.

This year I am going to run a half marathon.  It is the one sport I still continue to struggle through, I'd rather swim 13 miles than run it.

Oh, and do it staying injury free would be a plus.

Finish my very first one!

I'm going to sign up for a sprint in August, then an Oly about 5 weeks later in September.

Although this is my first season, and I suppose my goal should be to finish my first tri, I've set my eyes on a half-iron distance in November. Swam a mile today and I was comfortable with it. Hopefully I can keep the training up and get through the 3 sprints, 1 Oly that I've already commited to and prayerfully muster up enough courage to go ahead and commit to the half-iron distance in Wilmington in November.

Do it!

This year, I'm doing two HIMS; White Lake in May and Beach to Battleship in Nov.  As soon as B2B is over, I am "Marathoner in Training!" for spring 2011.  I've also got my sights set on IMFL for 2011.  Already signed up as a volunteer for this year so I can be there to register!

Since my swim times are pathetic.....any improvement in my swim would be welcome.

Doing my first HIM this year and am ready to nail the bike & run part at least.  I really have an issue with swimming these days, any way to finish the race without that part?

No, I didn't think so....

This is my first year,...so...

I already finished my first tri last weekend...reverse tri....

Next is a regular Tri with a longer swim...complete that.

Train consistent for a few months and complete my first Olympic distance.

Get faster and build endurance over the next year.

Sub 6 HIM for me.  Have 2 scheduled this year.  July & September  The bike is my weakness so I will be doing lots of saddle time to strengthen that leg of the race.  Best of luck to everyone else out there in accomplishing your goals and objectives!
