I'm putting malgal on this team as she has given me the power to do so.

This team needs a Captain so if you've got the leadership skills, step forward!

First order of business is a snappy team name and cool colors.

I am expecting nliedel (I think), triguy2004 and triplethreat to be signing up here any moment now... that puts this team at 4 members.

I'll be on Team 5 ... or at this point known as the "We don't need no stinkin' captain" Team. =)

First order of business is a snappy team name and cool colors.

That's much more important than setting goals. LOL.

I am good to go for July. Put my name in for Team 5. Very original name! I like it. It has character.
Here are my goals:
Swim 23000 yards
Bike 360 miles
Run 100 miles

I'm in! This is the kind of challenge I need as it will force me to finally start posting all my training in the account here and move away from Motionbased and Fitlinxx.

My monthly averages:
Swim: 4,000 yards
Bike: 205 miles
Run: 70 Miles

I am a sprint clydesdale (and a Taurus :D )

Oh... all right then, I'll try this one too. I'm NOT volunteering for captain either though. I'll have to think about goals and get back with some later. This also depends on what the potential stakes are and I reserve the right to wimp out once those are announced.

Edit: I'm also training for a sprint. I'm technically still a clyde too but don't expect to stay there so I'm not really considering myself in that category.

2 more members and this team roster will be closed out (unless nliedel wants out).

Stakes will be bragging rights and most likely a charity pledge.

I'm in for this team but I'm a follower not a leader so I'm not up to being Captian either. I have to look at my schedule and get back to you with goals. Get ready to kick some butt!

I don't think being a captain is anything special. Each person set their own individual goals, forms a plan, and reaches those goals ... everyone else just encourages one another along the way.

If all that a captain needs to do is report weekly totals for updates, I have no problem with doing that. But, we're all adults and focused, we don't need someone telling us what to do, and when to do it. So, I come back to the modified Blazzing Saddles quote,"Captain? *laughter* We don't need no stinkin' captain!"

Captain reports their teammates' numbers; has a say in the formula used to determine what is measured (what determines "Winning"; and grants/denies any concessions requested by other Team Captains. LBE etc.

I'm all for it, heck it's got the word "crush" in it. I mean it's "Fivetastic". I mean it's one "Bad Mother Fiver". Okay, I'm strugglin'.

In the next day or so, it'd be nice if everyone could get down their run, bike, and swim goals either in time or distance (or both), and we'll get them posted.

I'm on vacation for the last week of July so I'm not sure yet when I'll be able to get online and report. It should be within a day of the end of the month though. I'll be at a lake for at least part of the time and hope to do some swimming there. I may have to estimate the lake distances somehow. My logging is all in metric but I made the bike and run commitments in both units so you can track it in either.

The swim and run are both ambitious goals for me. I might be a little light on the biking but I'm not sure if I'll have a bike available on vacation so that's also a tough 3 week plan for my riding.

Swim: 15,000 meters
Bike: 322 Km (200 miles)
Run: 81 Km (50 miles)

*gulp*

Thanks Triple Threat for being Captain - as a super hero you'll make a great leader

I like fivetastic as a name as I don't have a crush on Renee.

Anyways, here are my totals for the month as I struggle to do an Olympic distance at the end of July. What in the world was I thinking???

S- 13,500 m
B- 324 km
R - 109 km

Hey QUESTION here, 'arm up high'. I am on a training plan that requires time to be more important than distance at the moment. How can I include my training into the team instead of miles? Is this possible, or should I try to sit down and work out approx distances???
Sorry Renee, I don`t have a crush on you either but I see why the guys like ya!!!
I like the 'FiveTastic Team' name too, or the 'FAB FIVE' or number 5 is kicking assssss team

Put your monthly goals in the form of hours+minutes. I believe that is acceptable.

  • ... we could also have ateam name that includes "an s", but we replace the "s" with a "5". ... like "Cru5h".

  • You guys pick the name, I'm too busy getting kids to bed and do my regular saving the world thing.
