Dallas -

Story of my life. When I ramp up training my appetite SOARS and I often gain some weight quickly. For me, the extra calories creep in between meals. It helps me to eat a little more at meals so that I feel satisfied and then be DILLIGENT about planning snacks and meals so that I'm not tempted to graze.

I have a problem with grazing too. If I can keep that under control, everything else seems to work out. I've found that if I make sure I get some protein, its easier to not graze between meals.

A day late checking in and 2 lbs up.  Ut-oh.  Time to get crack-a-lackin on the back eating habits.  They've really gotten out of hand.

I really thought I had posted my starting weight for the month before we went to Mexico but after going through every page I realized that I hadn't and had to go back to May to see how I started the month.

I was a little disappointed when I stepped on the scale. Started the month at 202 and am up to 207.  I'm hoping that most of it is water weight since my legs are still a little swollen. Don't know why they swelled up the last couple of days of our trip. I hope its not anything serious since I have a big relay race tomorrow/Saturday. I hope that I can step on the scales next week and see most of the gain is gone. Then I'll have another week to lose the last little bit to get my goal and be back under 200.

I think I'm going to start logging what I eat since that is when I tend to have the most success losing weight.

Saling, thanks for the welcome!  I plan to play around with cutting calories and cycling them and will let you all know what works.

Emily, thanks for the encouragement!

I've been tracking my calories on fitday the last couple days and am hovering in the 1850-1900 range.  I feel hungry, but not dangerously so.  We'll see what the scale says on Monday!

Good luck crews and pdbman!

Crusades are good....And easier to run and ride with a bit of weight loss.

Survived my group ride for the first time this year (granted only 3 attempts).  Loged 500  miles so far this month and looking forward to increasing the intensity of my bike rides now that my base feels pretty good.

Had my first solid training week since coming back. Logged around 10 hours and need to keep building from there. Nutrition is still a work in progress. Going to see Jimmy Buffett in Detroit on Tuesday so the first half of my week may be a little rough but hopefully getting my eating habits back to something half way respectable.

After a event on Friday with ice cream social event, birthday on Saturday and eating out on Fathers day, I maintained my weight over the weekend.

I am fairly happy with that..

Well so much for the peach challenge this month. Missed Friday and Sunday. I'm back at it today and plan on finishing the rest of the month.

I didn't bother posting my weight on Wednesday cuz mother nature packed on some serious water weight this month and I posted a 209 that morning. Yesterday morning I was back down to 202.5. I don't know how, but I've already made goal for the month. I really need to get my nutrition under control. I'm obviously not eating enough. Anyone have a great book out there that could help me. I'm eating awesome food and my digestive track has never felt better and I'm not letting myself get hungry or anything. I don't feel faint and I'm making it easily through my training, so not sure what the deal is. I don't want to be losing weight this fast. Thoughts?

Thanks man, I knew you had my back. Not sure if it is a gentle nudge or a cattle prob but either way I'll take it.

After running a total of 10.25 miles all of May, I have already ran over 18 miles this month with over 13 miles the last week.

I cannot seem to get the number on the scale to move. I am still holding hope the huge increase of training volume is throwing my body for a loop. Hoping I hop on the scale one morning and see a huge loss when the body just quites resisting the weight loss...... I really dont think its possible to add 3-5 lbs of muscle in 2-3 weeks of just running, so I cant really say it is that.

Nice job!

Thanks, feeling really good today since the scale said 208.4 lbs.  That is about 2lbs from last week.  Hopefully another good day and a good swim will keep it there or below tomorrow for the official weigh in.

Could it be water retention?

June 14:  147.0
June 21:  146.6

Eh, not a huge loss, but I'll take it.

I averaged about 2000 calories overall last week - hit my 1800-1900 goal M-F but ate more on S & S when I had long workouts.  If that amounts to half a pound a week, I guess that's OK.

My goal for this week is 145.6 (scale is in 0.2 increments), but 146.0 would be OK, too.

Not a great week for me, I am up 2lbs to 282lbs.

I do know why this is the case however and it is my fault completely. I trained too little and ate too much. That about sums it up really.

Moving on to next week.....
