Hello Team!!!

My washboards are a little lumpier and softer than I want, so let's really hit this in August!

I do some crunches and oblique crunches for core.  Anybody have some other favorites?

Hey All! This is my first challenge in a few months...I took a little hiatus during our move from HI to WA so I desperately need this especially since core work is my focus lately!!

As a quick intro my name is Michelle ~ in case you didn't catch that down below and I am a SAHM to my 2 1/2 yr old babydoll, Sammi! I am going through withdrawals since I am not racing this summer due to some injuries and am now trying to build back up. Here's to an awesome (and chatty) month!!

Hey Dee, good to see you again!  I am focusing on a little of everything so I incorporate my FB into a lot of the stuff I do ~ supermans, planks, crunches, obliques, blah, blah, blah

Hello Team!

A little about me: I'm Emma.  Just started doing tris this year.  I'm about to start my senior year of college (where did the last 3 years go???) at Clemson... Go Tigers!!!

I'm really excited about this challenge as I really need more core work.  I'm gonna try to do the 200 sit-ups challenge (http://www.twohundredsitups.com/index.html) and incorporate some other ab work such as supermans, planks, and the pilates dvd I have.

GO TEAM!!

Hello washboards! I'm Kim, looking forward to a great month of ab work! For the SH you need to put in btchallenge/challengeforum for the username and password, I just tried and it worked for me.

Hello Team Washboards,

My name is Arnt and I live in North Vancouver, home of the 2010 Winter Olympics.  A couple of years ago I completed my fourth Ironman and then sort of went into retirement from triathlon.  Now, 50 pounds later, I'm back and it started today with a short swim , a short run , a short spin, and a 10 minute core workout.  Yee-Haw.  Kona here I come!

I did the 200 sit-ups test and there's a lot of work to do.  Also it seems I have a problem with leg raise exercises because my hamstrings are so tight so if anyone has any tips on lengthening hamstring stretches, please pass them forward.

Good luck all and see you tomorrow.

You're not even a half Iron distance away!

Actually I did both the Grand Columbian and the Lake Stevens Half IM, 70.3, down there in washington,.
Nice country down there.

I just saw a flyer for the Grand Columbian and was wondering where it was...I just moved here in May so I'm still trying to figure out where things are! I have my sights on Lake Stevens in 2012 since I want to use next year to check out the race venue around here and get used to things (like wearing a wet suit...soooo not needed in HI!)

Hi fellow teammates.  I did the 8-minute abs routine from YouTube and supplemented with with a few other core exercises.  I am also taking this opportunity to make sure I do my hip flexor exercises and rolling as well, which I seemed to have such trouble doing (and then would wonder why I continued to have problems in this area).  No more.  By the end of August I will have washboard abs and my hip flexors and ITB will not give me any trouble.

After I posted my "x" on the spreadsheet, I did notice that we were in first place.  Since I greatly prefer winning to not, let's all keep our first day momentum going.

Morning All! I am off to baby and me swim class with Sammi and will be doing my core work when she takes her nap this afternoon. I also need to get a ride in but I'm thinking that will have to wait until she is in bed tonight! What's on everyone's agenda today?

Leah ~ I just "happen" to notice we were in 1st as well

Sue ~ Were you able to access the spreadsheet yet?

Question of the Day:  What do you hope to gain by doing this challenge...aside from the obvious coveted washboard abs?!

As for me, I have had some set backs this year with injuries and our move which led me to a point where I wasn't working out at all. After getting settled and in touch with several docs (chiro, ortho, PCM) I am well on my way to recovery but core work has been a big focus for me especially cuz of my back and hip issues. Now that I am back in the swing of things I have noticed a HUGE difference in the way I feel during and after my rides and runs! I swear it has to do with the core work I have been so adamant about and have every intention of keeping it a priority...hence, me joining in the challenge

Yes, thank you, I did. This is all so new to me and I am loving it! Looking to get a ride in tonight after work and then my core work. I just have to get through this week at work and then I'm on vaca for 2 weeks! Yes!

I got my second core session in today after my 3 mile run.
My other goal is to lose 1 pound every day.

Lat's go team!
