Experior - 2010-11-24 9:12 PM My family -- 4 generations! -- is going to do a 'family 5k' tomorrow before our Thanksgiving meal.  We were going to run a Turkey Trot together, but at $30 a pop, we weren't up for the $420 total entry fee.  Instead, we've laid out our own 5k in a local park.

Our family is doing the same thing doing our own private 5K with my husband and any of our 5 kids that want to participate or not.

With two turkeys to cook before Noon, I had to do a solo Turkey Trot this morning.  Great run and first turkey is roasting away.

Did a very small 5K this morning, deciding to do it last night. Was a bit slower than I would have liked as the lead group didn't really push the pace, but still had fun. Wanted 19:00, but went 19:24.

A little late to the discussion, but, I worked as the Medical Director for the Bradenton Runners' Club 5 Mile Turkey Trot. This is one of 4 races that I work with my Student Athletic Trainers a fund raiser.  I did manage to squeeze in a 5 mile run on my own later in the afternoon.

I busted out the fastest 5 mile run in the Austin Turkey Trot. Only later when I got home did I realize they shorted the course by about .4

So much for busting out a fast run. If I add my time plus the amount it would have taken me to run the last .4 not such a great run.

It was still fun!
