I did four races last year in my first season and I didn't come home empty handed from any of them.  Two of them stand out however:

Kansas City Triathlon

The medal was nice to get, and even the bib is a cool souvenir with the logo on it. I am very fond of that towel though, it works great draped over my neck on the trainer.  I recently e-mailed the RD and asked him to encourage the sponsor to give them out again. (The bottle is what was given out for podium awards.  I received one as recognition for all my work setting up and taking down the race site.)

And now on to the BIG one I went to.  Here is the actual schwag given out at the registration for the Hy-Vee Triathlon:

And this is pretty much EVERYTHING I brought back from the race.  The weather was crap and the expo vendors couldn't get rid of stuff fast enough. They were practically throwing stuff at anyone making the rounds. To put it mildly, they gave out BOXES instead of singles.

Most of that stuff has been eaten. What we didn't care for at home was shared with bike club riders, left at the YMCA counter, etc.  I wear the jersey on most rides and will use the bag for 'Y visits until it falls apart.  (Which may not be much longer...)

There was a pair of sunglasses too (Oakley knockoffs). This race has a history and reputation for their SWAG.

Tiffany necklaces at the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco.  Maybe not the best for me, but I'm sure the women who received them appreciated them.

At the Javelina Jundred, a gym bag, water bottle, long sleeve tech tee were nice.

At Goofy's Challenge, you end up with 3 long sleeve tech tees (one for half mary, one for the mary, and one for completing both) and three very large/substantial medals each with a different disney character.

HIM I did gave out socks, race belt, chip strap, tech shirt, and the other usuals gel, ads, etc.  Some useful SWAG = good in my book.  That blew me away after my general experience of a shirt and a water bottle or something.

Dang.  I need to start doing better races.  A t-shirt just isn't going to do it for me anymore.  A race around here advertises the "best goodie bag" and it was a plastic bag with a sweatshirt in it.  No coupons.  No samples.  No ads, even.  Just a sweatshirt that didn't fit.

Your swag is inspirational.

I have a big stone I got as an award. It's about 1 foot x 1 foot and  probably weighs at least 10lbs, but it's the coolest thing ever! It's got the typical race, placement and date engraved into it. When we move into our "final" destination house-it will probably be put in some sort of garden.

The best SWAG that I have received is from the "Miami Man"...and...every single year is the same quality and better and better...

A nice long sleeve high-tech Jersey with logo

A high-tech t-shirt with logo

Hat with logo

Towel with logo

Mouse Pad with logo

Bottle with logo

The best and fun silicone swimming cap with Logo (different models according with your AG)

Race belt with logo

And tons of goodies...these are some of them...the leftover...LOL

Best I've got so far was the Miami Half Marathon.  It wasn't anything special, it was a small gym bag, but I had been wanting one just like it for a couple of weeks, and the one I got was from the school I'm attending right now (UM), so it was cool.  Really useful too!

Best swag for me is a post race massage and or other body work.  A nice tech shirt is always appreciated.  And food.  Junky food.  Twinkies and donuts and coffee and chocolate milk.

The race right in my hood, Broadland Dog Days Tri, offers all of these.
