ceilidh - 2011-09-02 5:26 AM wow Yanti.. I am a Southerner, too!

Durrrrr ... in more ways than one!

never pays to reply too early ... sorry 'bout that!

I have an excuse ... well, that was a rousing start to my challenge month, had an hour's bike and swim on tap today each, then wound up having a mild fever and incredibly-not-mild diarrhea (yum, right?) ... went ahead and did my day, came home at 7pm ready to swim and bike ... and promptly fell asleep. Came to at about 4am I think, so I'm just going to stay up now.

Morning All!

So nice to see so many new faces and all the old Crushers too of course

We have a public holiday here today but I am in work. Hoping for a productive day as there only seem to be 4 people in the whole building so far.... I guess for that to happen I better get off here!

mattie-goff - 2011-09-01 9:54 AM I am in for the North team. (Mattie is only 6 and she picked these goals. We will go swimming 5 times and she is just learning to ride her bike, so she picked two bike rides.  charles-goff)

Great goals Mattie. Good luck with the bike riding.

Triaya - hope you're better now.

I should add that I also went for south because I'm in that hemisphere.

I jumped onto team South since it was shorter (southern Ontario). Goals for the month are 12 bike/spin sessions and 4 pool sessions.

Knocked out 40 mins on the bike yesterday to start (I'm slightly ahead of you being in australia) and a pool session today so I'm already on track.

Yanti, for the record, as much as I enjoyed your melon press, you had me on your South team...I'm actually on the North team. North America, North in the Civil War, North Jersey, I head North for vacations and races. I am so much more a Northerner!

Great start for me yesterday as I got to swim in nice cool refreshing pool. Hmmm...nice, cool, refreshing...doesn't that all sound more like a northern thing to say?

Actually kinda weird to think about it, but I guess those of you on the lower half of the equator would consider heading south as cooler and north as getting hotter.

You may be cool up North but we are hot here in the South!

Howdy Team North~

Hope everyone has an active weekend planned with a lot of biking and swimming.  Whatever your plans, have fun and check in to let us know how you're doing!

I think Team North has members in the U.K., Japan and across the U.S.  Team South looks just as geographically diverse.  Quite cool that the sport and BT brings us all together.

Decided on 8 bike sessions.  Will start on Tuesday as 2 of my very best friends decided to come visit.  I'm spending as much time as I can with them while they're here.  It could be a very long time until I see them again.

I agree.  That's the awesome thing about this website.  Some much geographic diversity and people with so many cool experiences.  Nothing like a little friendly competition to get the training spirit flowing.  With that said... GO TEAM NORTH!!! :P

I hope everyone is having a good labor day weekend.  Some of you may be just starting yours, but here in Japan it's halfway through saturday already.  Just got back from the pool so now it's time for lunch, a little work on my masters thesis (I loath it) and then some stress relief with a bike ride at the gym.  I would ride outside but there's a typhoon outside. :P  Tokyo is just at the eastern edge of the storm, but it's pretty windy outside.  Might make for some good training, but a tree branch to the face would not be ideal... On that note, I hope those affected by Hurricane Irene are getting back to normal.  My prayers are with all of you.

haha I hope what happens whenever I seek redemption doesn't happen to you ... or your team for that matter ... just kidding Duane, you are doing awesome stuff in your life and it's great you can fit the training in that you do!

It's swim and/or biking so either sport alone is fine, or both. Welcome on board! Pick your team wisely ... and don't forget your punishment from last month.

ince I seem to be completely unable to figure out who is on what team even when it's in front of me, and haven't (YET) made the worksheet figure out the team averages and totals ... that must mean ... I'M in ATHLETICOMA from all the training!

I've had a look at the spreadsheet and I think I've got the team averages working but my brain isn't awake yet so someone might need to double check I've done it correctly.

Got my biggest ride in for over a year, to show how pathetic your distances become with a year of injuries that was 32kms.  I almost forgot how much better it is riding a real road bike on the open road instead of just on the windtrainer.

Got a swim due to fit in tomorrow in between Father Day duties here, all on track at the moment - Go Southerners

Hey, some T.I.T.S. can be just as fine as big T.I.T.S. and it's all definitely better than no T.I.T.S.!!!

Looks good! I cleaned up some other stuff that needed cleaning up so the spreadsheet is (shockingly) in good order, even if we need to add latecomers.

As for me ... hey, 10% into the challenge and I'm actually on track! That's shocking too, especially with the whopping swim goal.
