Thanks Ellen, I was supposed to do another 5 on the bike, but my legs really didn't have it in them.

Your workout was fantastic. Someday I hope to be as good on the bike.

I am anything but good on the bike.  As I was riding, I was passed by a couple of guys who were just smokin' right along.  Now I know I have no business comparing my performance to theirs, but damn!  I wish I could ride like that!

Swam w/ masters team this am. About 3200 yds. Think I'm going to try out my wetsuit for the first time this Friday. Should be interesting!

I know what you mean! I feel the same way when I race. I do well for my age, but I'm always lookin at who is out in front.
I don't know how I became that competitive because prior to racing, I could care less about any competition. Now I get pissed if I don't finish in the top half of overall.

Speed swim day for me today, as I was feeling peppy for once!!
1300m total, speed set was 8x50m:15. Just enough to start on speedwork.
I'm off to our Multisport Club kick off....party and free food :-)

Ran/walked 3.5 miles. How fast do others run? I did this in 40 minutes. Feel good now but was dying on the run. I think I need to leanthen my stride.

Do you use a heart rate montitor they are really useful as you can train on effort rather than time which i think is more effective.

my run time depends on distance and intensity, i can do a fast 3 miles in just under 7mins a mile and 8 miles in just under 8 a mile.

But to start off with 9months ago it was more like 12 a mile than sub 8, and i didn't do fast! I found that with running, especially since my first race my speed has increased alot (even to close 6min in short 2mile runs....not gonna win any medals but for me its good!). I found you need to vary your trainning e.g. (from my program) do a long pace slow run 8 miles, med paced 3miles, fast 3miles or shorter maybe 2, slow to medium 6miles and also Hills. Hills, although horible are a fast way to increase strength and endurance. By varying your program you will get alot more out of your runs...anyways thats just my 2 pennies worth

65 km ride lots of hills lots of wind. It was really hard but a beautiful day. Then a 10 km run. I barely stayed awake through work.
