It is. My officemates laugh because they never know what I'm going to be listening to when they visit. It'll be Michael W. Smith, followed by Kenny Chesney followed by Jay-Z with Linkin Park.

oh, and anything by The Postal Service if I've gotta ride indoors.

The Postal service rocks but they always seem to depress the hell out of me. I will have to give them a shot next time on the trainer....

Another great set of selections that I use, besides some of the metal groups, are Euro remixes of 80's songs. They remix them for dance clubs in Europe. They have an awesome beat with a nice fast tempo mixed with a slow tempo throughout the song. An ex-Special Forces friend of mine gave me some songs from when he was overseas. (no, I don't have a clue about group names)

Flogging Molly.

By far some of the best training music around.

If you like FM, and you're looking for something with a bit more edge, peep the Dropkick Murphy's.  Nothing like punk w/ bagpipes to get you crankin.

OMG I LOVE them!  They are one of the bands in my workout mix.....

Damn skippy!  They rock the hizzy.....for shizzy.

Perhaps my favorite. I was stationed in Germany and would hear it on the radio. I'm not sure how to find the tapes or CDs.

I'm another fan of metal and fast paced music for my rides. Some of the best bands I've found to make me push it are Rammstein, Prodigy, Gravity Kills

Nothing like a strong driving beat to get the HR up

It's old, but the Rednex album with Cotton Eye Joe is a great one. Very silly and very fast.

The best song ever recorded to simulate a hill climb is Kashmir by Zeppelin.

I like to do interval sets where I'll alternate Fast paced loud obnoxious music like Static-X, Powerman 5000, Rob Zombie, Drowning Pool, and Sevendust with mellower music like DMB, Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, U2, and Filter. Tempo to the mellow stuff and push/sprint to the fast stuff. After two hours of that there is a pool of sweat on the floor.
If I want to go for a real long indoor ride I go with Joe Satriani. Its got the right mix of tempo and feel to keep me going and going...

Best sprinting song "Bodies" by Drowning Pool.

I tend to mix in the "Jock Jams" CDs. Cotton Eye Joe is one of them. It's got a pretty good beat.

TV... hmmm.. That's a good idea. If Santa comes through for me, then maybe I'll set up in front of a TV. Unfortunately, we'll be having the battle of the remote. My wife tends to enjoy HGTV, TLC, and Food Network shows at the time I'll be riding the trainer. I may not have the desired result from the show!

i like Linkin Park, Live, Emminem..  it's also a chance to catch up on my TV viewing..  i watched seasons 3, 4, and 5 of Sex and the City on the trainer..  as well as season 1 & 2 of Arrested Development..  i love my netflix membership

I downloaded some Flogging Molly based on the word here, and it was great!  It kept me spinning fast for the last 40 minutes or so of a 2 hour traner ride. Thanks for the recommendation!

If any of you like punk or ska, then try Operation Ivy. That stuff will get me spinning fast like nothing else. And all the songs are pretty short, too, which is nice if you are really working hard.
