There are many things for race day that are essential, but easily forgotten. I could name a dozen right away, but I'll let you all fill in the rest.

I'll start: BODYGLIDE. (Really helpful for wetsuit neck chafing)

You took my answer. Forgot it for my IM in 97 degree weather. BIG OOPS.

Seems to me if you just keep all this stuff in your bucket you won't have to worry about forgetting it...

The first race I entered, a call was made over the PA system asking if anyone had any spare shoes to lend.

I've been out twice for rides and had to come back home and get mine. I always use the check list here to help me remember everything.

wetsuit

I have a check list I use and pack everything into a laundry basket. It is an easy carry to the car, and is great for after the race to put all your wet, sweaty, muddy etc. race gear back in.

Clothes or a bathing suit to change into post-race if you are hanging around for the festivities/awards.  Sweat/salt crusted tri-suit = ew.

BAR ENDS!!  Forgot to check, was missing BOTH, USAT officials on my bike within seconds of racking it, an official had one that fit and Specialized had a booth and gave me the other one.

Sunscreen! Longer the race the more you need. A few extra second in T1 and or T2 saves a ton of discomfort and pain later. Trust me on this one!

Don't forget to put your front wheel on in the correct direction to use your bike computer (if you use one).

That should be fairly straight-forward if you remember that the skewer stays on the left.
