The plastic plugs that cover the handle bar opening on the drops of a road bike, or sometimes the ends of aero bar clip-ons. They fall out sometimes and are a safety hazard when missing, I think all races require that they be on your bike before racing.

ETA: To the OP, I'm a huge fan of the pre-race packing list. I have one in Excel that I use as a packing list the night before and as a final check to make sure my transition area is set (e.g., bike in right gear, watch set etc.)
