Subject: Tri bike advice needed please hi, I was thinking about waiting till next season before buying a tri bike, but this listing popped up on craigslist, and I could probably afford this one now:
They are asking $1000, but said it's negotiable and I was hoping I can get it down to $800.
They said it's about 16.5 lbs. This description is from the ad:
Simonetti TT / triathlon bike, 49cm. Lightning fast, very light, Campy Chorus groupo with Cinelli 'cockpit', Profile carbon fork, Campy Shamal tubular wheels. Excellent condition, never crashed.
I haven't seen it yet, going to test drive it on Sunday. I never owned a tri bike, and never ridden Campy. I currently have a RED Leader road bike with Ultegra components. I like it, but I would like to own a tri bike especially if it'll make me faster in my races. Sounds like this one is pretty fast (it's RED after all ), but I think it's almost too cheap to get a good tri bike for that...
What do you think:
1 ) Would it be a good buy?
2 ) Would $800 be a good price for it?
3 ) Am I better of saving some money and buying more expesive new tri bike for the next season?
