Caught by McDonald late in the run (mile 19ish). McDonald has won here a few times before.

Looks as if he is in 3rd place and 18:00 behind the winner (patrick evoe) who just crossed the finish line. Hopefully he takes a podium spot!!

I am really impressed with what he is doing in his first year as a pro. His race reports are great reads. They really give some insight into the strategies involved with racing at the professional level. If you haven't checked out his blog, you should.

Congratulations.

The heat on that course is no joke, so it looks like a really good job!

I know he's been working on achilles issues all summer, so good to see him do this well at a big event.

Thanks all for the kind words and support. I had a pretty good day out there and was happy with my swim, most of my bike, and the run is what it is.  It was hot and once Big Sexy caught me I pretty much just set myself up to save as much as I could to race again in two weeks either at IMMOO or Rev3 Cedar Point.  Now I find myself up late, and seeing as I had 18 Roctane Gels on the run I could see myself being up for many more hours.

Cheers,

-TG

Congrats... that's awesome. Roctanes... man, that suff turns me into the Hindenburg! I can't see how anyone uses that.

Great Job on the race!!!

Awesome job - great to have you on BT!

It's also humbling to see the awesome results you get on your training - I've probably exceeded your run mileage for my entire HIM block for the past 12 weeks, and nearly equaled your bike but won't be anywhere near your ability, ever.

Awesome job, Thomas!  Did I read that correct, 18 Roctanes on the run course alone?
