Pre-race routine:

Had some OJ and oat role with cream cheese for breakfast about 5 AM. Arrived at lake about 1 hr prior to start finished drink about 1 qt of gator aid with some jelly beans about 15 minutes prior to start. .

Need to work on drafting, only could get behind someone only a few times during the 2 miles and at most only for a few minutes.

Warm down:

Nothing other than walk for a few minutes before sitting down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Ability to draft for any extended time. Need to work on my speed. Have notice that since the Great Chesapeake even my pool pace during workouts has slowed.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
