Mitch, get the Strassburg sock ASAP. It's the best invention for PF and I am using it for my Achilles issue right now. I love it. It keeps the foot from flexing forward all night thereby keeping everything stretched.

Dennis, thanks. I hope you have a speedy recovery too. I'm about 5 weeks out from my race. I've never really been injured, so I'm really being careful with this. I don't want it to turn into something worse. The good news is my athletic friends here are nurses, LMTs and PTs. I get lots of good advice and I know it's sound because they are all athletes too.

Adding last night’s ride with the wifey and this morning’s run at the park. The run felt good, I wanted to put in 6 miles but I could start to feel my calf get tight so I stopped at 4.5 miles. It feels fine now so I guess I will have to start slower than I thought.

55 minutes on the drainer. Work and elderly parent issues blew the last five days of training. Hopefully things have calmed down and I can regain control in October.

This was a solid month of training for me and I learned a lot. Treadmill run of 8 miles today. Soleus and achilles were relatively quiet, so what I'm doing is obviously working.

Thanks, Dennis, for pushing me to do my assigned workouts. There were a few days that I didn't want to. Once I got started, I was fine.

On a side note, I just noticed that I swam over 100,000 yards for 2014. That is a record for me, and there is still some of the year left.

Thanks Jim and Gabe, and GREAT JOB goes out to my fellow TEXAN. Way to go Jackie!!!

My body is finally getting used to the 14 to 16 hour workout weeks without leaving me feeling exhausted all the time. With that being said, I am about to increase the workout lengths in preparation for my first OLY in the spring(as mentioned before) so the fatigue will soon return. I haven't started yet in part due to my calf injury and the fact that I like not being tired all the time. But I will pull the trigger soon.

How long has Garmin had the ability to sync with STRAVA automatically? I synced my swim workout with my laptop and watch when it appeared on my STRAVA automatically. Pretty cool!

Added Mitch back in. I love the "sock".

Sam, keep it up. There are some great deals on bikes right now at the end of the season.

Dennis, look at these exercises for achilles that will help your calf
http://www.mc.uky.edu/athletic_training/docs/nzsmsc-2010/Eccentric_...
Also, try Ultragen for your recovery and use it liberally, two scoops after hard workout or if you're tired, one if easy workout and you're not overly tired. great stuff.

Thanks all for the congrats. Remember, I'm stuck in Tallahassee with no kids and no boyfriend. All I do is work, eat, sleep and train. I don't have to fit any other responsibilities in. Makes a big difference in my time.

BUT, Gabe is back from China.

30 minutes on the drainer this morning (Trainerroad Steele - 3x3' @ 105% FTP). I'm really loving Trainerroad. I knew I had about 30 minutes to squeeze a workout in. Quick search of their workouts allows me to see time and intensity and exercise profile. Pick one, start pedaling, shift into harder gears when they tell me and enjoy the pain. Foot still a bit sore, but not as bad as I expected after running yesterday. Through the magic of Amazon Prime I should recive The Sock tomorrow afternoon. If I can survive the ridicule from my wife all will be good. Her reaction was..."$30 for a sock...and only one sock...you don't get the pair of socks???"
