I've personally raced it the last 5 years, have clients who race it every year, plus several alumni from the chapter of TNT that I volunteer with do it every year. You won't find many people who have anything negative to say about Musselman, and most people rave about how awesome it is. Definitely a first-class race.
x3 on Musselman. Raced it 3 times, and love that race. The RD is great, the race is very well organized and the local town really comes out and supports the race. The local college opens up for cheap housing on race weekend, so that's another plus. This race would be a very good choice. As everyone has said, it's a first class event.
As for selling out, it sells quickly, but not sure how fast. I think registration opens in November, and it sells out by Feb/March. I may be a bit off on this, but it's certainly does not sell out immediately.
Another race closer to Boston that you may want to also consider is the Litchfield Hills Olympic. It's just west of Hartford, CT, and put on by the Hartford Marathon folks . A very nice race, good course and very fresh water swim. I've done that race a few times too and really enjoy it. |
