Subject: RE: Ninja Blender I have the same one. It's pretty awesome. I use the smoothie cup attachment more than anything else. I really need to give myself an excuse to use the blender and food processor attachments.
My usual go-to smoothie is:
peanut butter
fresh or frozen blueberries, rasberries, strawberries
a banana
unsweetened vanilla almond milk
a tbsp of chia seeds
a few leaves of kale or spinach
If I'm using fresh berries, I'll put in a few ice cubes. Sometimes I'll add a scoop of creatine powder.
I've tried using beets and carrots but it didn't blend them up as smoothly as I would have liked. It was almost a salsa-like consistency. Maybe I need more liquid or more time, not sure. Do you cook the veggies before you blend them? I assume not.
I also like to use frozen pineapple chunks or frozen peaches. Pineapple chunks, plain almond milk, coconut lowfat yogurt, chia seeds, creatine, and a few ice cubes is another good one. |
