Subject: RE: 5.5.15 Happy Cinco de Mayo! 35 minute run with a few tempo pickups this AM. Still feeling a bit iffy but better than yesterday; hope I'm okay by Sunday. Won't discuss the state of my toenails--I think I'm down to 8. Actually more like 4 1/2 + 3 1/2. Long runs in sloshy shoes don't do wonders for them. And it's sandal season all year!
Just had to share--the LOW here tomorrow is supposed to be 84. On race day (another forecast service, probably more accurate ), daytime low 86, high 94, sunny, no cloud cover. At least hypothermia will probably NOT be an issue. Wondering if the entire field will become grease spots on the pavement. Plus have never heard of the nutrition or drink products offered on the course, which they just announced today. Glad I planned on self-sufficiency, except for taking any water/sponges they hand out. Wondering if I can get away with sticking my head in the cold water sponge bucket and shaking like a dog. (Got yelled at in Singapore for that--they said it was unsanitary! )
Off to bed now. |
