Subject: RE: Swimming Routine This winter I've tried to make it to the indoor pool three times a week; sometimes that happens, but about a third of the time I can't make it for one reason or another. While there I do 72 lengths (a mile ) most workouts, occasionally more, just straight swimming, no intervals or anything. I'm mostly working on form and being able to continue swimming without exhausting myself. I'm still pretty slow but making gradual improvement in speed without sacrificing endurance. Eventually I'm sure I'll do intervals of some kind but this seems to be working for me so far. One of my goals is to complete an Olympic this year and I think I've developed enough to do that, although I haven't had any open water practice yet. |
