Veteran  136   San Diego, CA |  Subject: What other boards are you on?I'm only on one other board otherwise I'd never get any work done - SoCalSportRiders.com. It's a motorcycle board - we say we're a drinking club with a riding problem. My screen name is Chixxer because I'm a chick and I ride a "gixxer". My old roommate gave me the nickname when I first got my bike. Who are you in your other lives and what other interests do you have? Are you on other triathlon boards as well as this one? Nic |

It's nice, much smaller, not quite as active as here, but I like the logging tools there, too. Other than that, not much else... Unless you wanna count the sites I had to register to get an answer to some work-related questions. But they're all programming-related. |

Actually, I started in 1998 on the RollingStone.com forums (the magazine, not the band). Those forums developed a community that might have even been tighter than this one, extremely knowlegeable rock music/pop culture fans from very diverse backgrounds. After a year or so, RS quit moderating the boards, so they were quickly overrun with goons and trolls. Eventually, without warning, the forums were pulled. Could you imagine the chaos if you woke up one morning and BT was no longer here? Within days, by networking through known email addresses, members had started a new independent forum, called RS Castaways, and had a couple hundred members. That forum still thrives to this day. I still poke my in there every once in a while. Also on forums at runnersworld, bicycling, slowtwitch (rarely), the Las Vegas Marathon (nice folks), and maybe a dozen or so that I registered for an forgot about. BT is it for me. getting to 7000 posts by the end of the year is a full time job  i used to post a lot on mothering.com forums, when ella was little...but no where near as much as i post here. i have account on organic gardening, run mama run, nike plus, backpacker, and a handful of yahoo groups (backpacking w/ children, twin cities attachment parenting international, minnesota adventure racing, velo bella)...but i don't post on any of them really. for the time i'm online, i really only visit a handful of sites. BT, weather, local news, BBC, fortean times, cryptomundo. and now nike plus. 90% of my time online is on BT. 5% on email, 5% on other sites. |

I used to be on the World of Warcraft forums and the forum for my guild when I played last year. BT is definitely where I spend most of my time. |
