No, creating recipes is for everyone.

What you have to do is log all of the foods in the 'recipe' as a 'meal' first.  So create the meal, for example: Meal #1 - 12:00 AM - put all the foods in with the proportions.

When that is done, hit the button 'back to nutrition log', THEN you will see the 'Save Recipe' option, hit that and you will get to enter a name to save it.  Then it will be accessed whenever you log foods in the future.

I can guide you though more if you need some help.

Ron-
Thanks for the reply..I tried it that way, but it didn't produce the info I was hoping for. I am looking to put in recipes I develop, that are made for more than 1 serving, but then when I put it in my nutrition log, I can adjust it down to 1 person. For instance, I make my own salad dressings, but obvoiusly, I make enough for a jar, but I only want a portion of the dressing in my nutrition log. Is there a way to do this. I think I might try and make a meal, and then put a portion of that...

If you do that via a 'recipe', you will want to enter ingrediants for '1 serving' - that way next time you choose it, you can still adjust the individual servings of each ingrediant if you have 2 servings...that may involve a little math for the first time converting a bulk recipe down to a single serving.  THE ONLY advantage to the 'recipe' is it keeps the ingredients separate for adjustment later.

OR using the 'meal' option, you will have to sum up the batch carb/prot/fat, etc (doing it with a recipe for a batch once can give you the numbers), and for the 'amount' you can put in 4 servings.  Then when you log that 'meal' next time, you can easily adjust the servings down by putting in a decimal value based on that '4 serving' batch.  For example, if you enter the meal as a '4 serving' recipe, when you log for one serving, you just change the units to 0.25.  BUT the only downside to this is that it lumps all ingrediant values together as the 'meal' - but is much easier to adjust per serving.

So yes, the 'meal' would be a better and easier option.

Let me know what you think, I can put up some screenshots too...

I would prefer them to be lumped togethr....so I think i will try the meal optin and see how that works for me. It's tough on this site since I am a chef and make all my own meals and never weigh/measure...so I think I am going to have to start!
I'll let you know if I have more trouble.

Thanks-
Happy Holidays

Try that with the 'meal' option, there is also one more mod we can do to the 'recipe; option that we can do that will allow us to keep ingredients discreet but allow for better portion control instead of having to adjust each individual ingredient...will look into it in the New Year.
